The Nitty Gritty

Whether you’re hiring a pro or tackling the grime yourself, it helps to know where the "standard" stops and the "scrubbing" begins. Here is the breakdown of what typically happens in each cleaning tier.

Residential Cleaning Services

Maintenance Cleaning

Keeping the home tidy and hygienic on a regular basis (weekly or bi-weekly). This focuses on high-traffic areas and surfaces. 

  • General Areas: Dusting visible surfaces (tables, mantels), vacuuming rugs, and mopping hard floors.

  • Kitchen: Wiping down countertops, exterior of appliances (fridge, oven, dishwasher), inside microwave and cleaning the sink.

  • Bathrooms: Sanitizing the toilet, wiping down the mirror, and cleaning the bathtub, sink and countertop.

  • Finishing Touches: Quick tidy-up of stray items and making beds (if requested).

Deep Clean

Removing built-up residue, scale, and dust from areas that aren't touched during a weekly wipe-down. This is usually done 2–3 times a year. Everything in Maintenance Cleaning is also included.

  • Kitchen: Deep scrubbing the stovetop, cleaning the inside of the microwave, and wiping down cabinet exteriors.

  • Dusting Detail: Hand-wiping baseboards, door frames, window sills, and ceiling fans.

  • Furniture: Vacuuming upholstery and cleaning behind/under light furniture.

  • Vents & Switches: Dusting air vents and sanitizing light switches and doorknobs.

Move-In / Move-Out

Returning the home to its "original" state. This is the most intensive because the home is usually empty, allowing access to every nook and cranny. 

  • Everything in Deep Cleaning, PLUS:

  • Inside Appliances: Thoroughly cleaning the interior of the oven and the refrigerator (including shelving and drawers).

  • Inside Cabinets: Wiping out the insides of all kitchen and bathroom cabinets and drawers.

  • Walls: Spot-cleaning scuffs or wiping down walls where dust has settled.

  • Windows: Cleaning interior glass and tracks.

  • Closets: Dusting shelving and vacuuming the floors of all closets.
